Kristen Stewart Laced Into Combat-Ready Boots for Chanel’s Metiers d’Art Show

Kristem Stewart brought a punky take to Chanel’s ladylike style while attending the brand’s latest Metiers D’Art fashion show.

Stewart arrived to Thomas Street for the occasion in Manchester, England — which also marked the latest runway to be held in a public space this year, following brands including Louis Vuitton and Balenciaga. For the show, the “Twilight” actress laced into a pair of Chanel combat boots with smooth black leather uppers and ridged rubber soles, cinched by thin front straps.

Thanks to their rock n’ roll origins, Stewart’s boots added a rebellious edge to her ensemble for the occasion: a flared long-sleeved minidress, crafted with Chanel’s signature tweed in hues of black, white, yellow, pink and green. Delicate interwoven sequins added a subtle sparkle to the piece, which Stewart accented with layered rings and a deep burgundy manicure.

The “Personal Shopper” star finished her look with layered silver metal necklaces — including a bejeweled Chanel star pendant, clip-style chain and Jillian Dempsey‘s safety pin-inspired Punk Lock.

Stewart was one of numerous stars in attendance at the show, where guests including Tilda Swinton, Alexa Chung, Hugh Grant and Anais and Gene Gallagher took in creative director Virginie Viard’s latest designs. Inspired by Coco Chanel’s ties to Manchester and the city’s own textile industry, the collection featured candy-colored tweed and feathered pieces paired with Mary Jane ballet flats and low heels — all trimmed with gold medallions, pearls and bows for a whimsical flair. Stewart’s combat boots also leaned into the shoe’s practical roots, partially knotted over white socks for a nonchalantly unfinished appearance. The style’s utilitarian base and secure silhouette have made it a go-to shoe, particularly in the fall and winter months. Often favored in darker tones, pairs are released from numerous brands to ensure a rebellious edge year-round — with Stewart’s proving the shoe’s power to add a grungy flair to any ensemble.
