Reminisce with us for a moment, if you will, on the fashion trends of 2023. Amongst the see-through dresses and Barbiecore, the no trousers trend also proved to be one of the most popular looks around. But unlike the aforementioned aesthetics that seamlessly translated from the red carpet to IRL, ditching your trousers for *just* tights or bare legs remained almost exclusively an outfit modelled by our favourite celebs. The likes of Kendall Jenner, Selena Gomez, Hailey Bieber, Anne Hathaway, Emma Corrin and Kylie Minogue all stepped out in their own take on the look.

And Kristen Stewart just confirmed going bottomless is set to stay for 2024. Posing on the cover of Rolling Stone's March issue, the actor not only reps the trend in a series of shots that sees her wearing just pants on her lower half, she also successfully flips the gender script in the process.

Kristen is well known for her androgynous style, but she fully leans into the masculine in the shoot by opting to wear a leather vest paired with men's tighty whities. A move both Heidi Klum and Dua Lipa have previously made.

This is a conscious decision on Kristen's part, as she discusses her fluid sexuality and awareness of gender conformity in the interview and tells the magazine, "I never have felt like I have performed a femininity in order to reap its benefits in a way that felt like a lie."

"I look at these kiddos that are so chilling on all of those fronts, and can have [gender] be like an accessory, can actually play with the novelty of that — have [femininity] one day, not have it the next," she continues.

Other shots capture Kristen in a gym repping further mascule clothing including slogan t-shirts, high-cut athletic shorts and mid-calf shots. All in all, it's giving men's '90s locker room.

So, if you have yet to brave the no trousers look for yourself, maybe now's the time to grab a pair of tighty whities? As Kristen proves, you can make a message much more powerful than simply repping the latest trend.
