Kristen Stewart Is Engaged To Her Girlfriend Dylan Meyer
Kristen Stewart just announced that she's engaged to her girlfriend of two years, Dylan Meyer. During a Tuesday morning interview on SiriusXM's The Howard Stern Show, Stewart revealed the exciting news, and also offered some sweet details about Meyer's proposal.
"We're marrying, we're totally gonna do it," Stewart told Stern, per People. "I wanted to be proposed to, so I think I very distinctly carved out what I wanted and she nailed it. It was really cute, she did very well. We're marrying, it's happening."
Stewart then went into more depth on how Meyer popped the question, and spoke a little about how the couple navigate gender roles in their relationship. "I wasn't specific at all. It's not a given that I would be the one [who was proposed to]. You know what I mean? With two girls, you never know who's going to fulfill what gender role thing. We don't do that or think about it in those terms. She just grabbed that bowl and made it happen. It was so cute."
Meyer and Stewart have been publicly dating since the summer of 2019, when they were photographed kissing in New York. But they actually met several years before that, on a movie set in 2013.
Meyer posted a black-and-white photo of her and Stewart kissing in October of 2019, confirming that they were a couple. "Find me under the covers hiding from the happiness police," she captioned the touching picture.
It's fitting that Stewart announced her engagement on Howard Stern's show, because almost exactly two years ago, she told Stern that she "couldn't f***ing wait" to propose to Meyer. When Stern pushed her for more details, she demurred, admitting that she'd planned out "a few scenarios" for how she'd propose, but didn't want to ruin the surprise for Meyer. "I can’t say right now because she’ll find out," she said. "I have a couple of plans that are just the coolest things to do... I think it’s pretty undeniable."
