Kristen Bell Revisits "Frozen" As Swearing Elsa
Kristen Bell's comedy chops are pretty legendary at this point, but even so, there's something extra funny about watching the actress deliver dry, profanity-filled lines while playing herself, playing Princess Elsa from her smash hit film Frozen.
This meta moment comes courtesy of the YouTube original series Ryan Hansen Solves Crimes on Television, which features Kristen's former Veronica Mars co-star Ryan Hansen. Even though she voiced younger princess sister Anna in Frozen, Kristen's found by Ryan and his "LAPD partner" Detective Mathers (played by Orange is the New Black fave Samira Wiley) as she prepares to play Elsa at a children's costume party. It's... a lot:
Kristen defends her princess choice as, "[N]o one wants to pay to see me play Anna, okay? They're always like, Can you do Elsa? Can you sing the song? Of course I can sing the song. I have the voice of a goddamn angel." (While then laying down a great case for Anna being the actual star of the film.) But this all kind of side steps the actual reason she's in the episode: Someone's wanted for the murder of a bunch of "public domain" princesses, and that someone is Kristen.
Which leads to this chef's kiss sendoff, directed at the birthday girl at the center of this princess costume conversation: "You know what sweetie? Elsa can suck my dick." Whew!
