Kristen Bell Let Her 6-Year-Old Daughter Get a Partial Buzz Cut
When I was little, I was very attached to my hair, wearing it waist length until middle school. Even if I had wanted a dramatic makeover while I was still in single digits, I doubt my mom would've humored my wish. But my mom isn't Kristen Bell (obviously), who's apparently totally cool with her daughter shaving part of her head on a whim.
Talking to People, Bell revealed that her six-year-old daughter Lincoln, with husband Dax Shephard, was suddenly inspired to give herself an asymmetrical undercut — and that Bell was happy to help make that happen.
"My oldest daughter shaved the side of her head a couple weeks ago," the star of The Good Place said. "I gave her permission."
Pressed for more details, Bell shared, "She just woke up one morning and was like, ‘I need to shave this whole side right here.’ And I was like, ‘What?’" — to which Bell says Lincoln replied, "'It’s got to be buzzed.'"
Bell was too impressed with Lincoln's conviction and edgy sense of style to deny her request, and so, Lincoln is now the proud owner of a partially shaved noggin. "I was like, ‘I’ve never been, nor will I ever be, that cool to shave the side of my head.' And she did it, and she rocks it and she loves it. And she even said, ‘I need a little trim. It’s getting long,'" Bell said. "And I was like, ‘Oh, you’re just like a skater girl. That’s so cool.'"
And Bell is arguably just as cool for letting Lincoln do her own thing — something she's had to remind herself is OK to do. “You also have to constantly remind yourself they’re not you," she told People. "It’s so easy to go, ‘That one’s like me. This one’s like my husband.' But they’re not. They are separate organisms."
