Kristen Bell & Dax Shepard Tried to be Friends with Beyoncé & Jay-Z…but It Didn’t Exactly Work Out
Fact: We’d make complete fools of ourselves if we ever came into contact with Beyoncé and Jay-Z in the wild. As it turns out, Kristen Bell knows exactly how that feels.
The Veronica Mars star, 39, appeared on a recent episode of Hot Ones—an all-new YouTube series—where she opened up about the time that she and her husband, Dax Shepard, sat next to the “Crazy in Love” duo at the Met Gala.
Bell began by explaining that their expectations were far too high, saying, “I was like, ‘Oh, this is going to be great. Finally, after tonight, we’ll have them in our phones, and we’ll be best friends.’ And then we maneuvered the table so that Dax could sit right next to Jay-Z, and Dax talked his ear off, and I don’t think Jay was that interested.”
The actress even called out Shepard for reciting lyrics from “All Around the World.” “I think at one point he also hit him with a lyric,” she added. “I think he was like, ‘Real recognize real!’ And I was like, Dax, Dax, don’t.’”
Although they didn’t become BFFs with Beyoncé and Jay-Z, Bell applauded her husband for pursuing his idol. “But I was proud of him that he went for broke!” she said.
On the bright side, Shepard probably made a lasting impression.
