Last month, Krispy Kreme kicked off summer by taking their signature doughnut flavors and turning them into ice creams with their new Original Glazed Soft Serve Ice Cream. Now, as the summer temperatures heat up, they're doing the reverse: bringing classic ice cream flavors to a new line of limited-edition doughnuts.

In their continuing quest to be the king of doughnut collabs — already this year, we've covered them teaming up with Twix and Cinnamon Toast Crunch — Krispy Kreme has now announced a partnership with Good Humor and Popsicle to release doughnuts inspired by three of their frozen treats. These "ice cream truck doughnuts," as they are being called, (and a new Chiller) are landing in Krispy Kreme stores across the U.S. starting today for a limited time.

First, doughnut fans can grab the Popsicle Firecracker Inspired Doughnut, billed as "an Original Glazed doughnut with icing inspired by Popsicle Firecracker, dipped in blue raspberry sugar, then topped with dollops of flavored Kreme inspired by Popsicle Firecracker."

Next up is the Vanilla King Cone Inspired Doughnut, described as "a doughnut filled with vanilla custard Kreme, dipped in chocolate icing, and topped with a blend of sugar cone pieces and chopped peanuts with a drizzle of chocolate icing."

And then, finally, the Creamsicle Inspired Doughnut is "a doughnut filled with vanilla custard Kreme, with icing inspired by Creamsicle and topped with a drizzle of white icing and mini sprinkles."

That said, in scorching July heat, customers may want something that is literally cold instead of simply "inspired" by something cold — and Krispy Kreme has that covered too with a new drink: the Creamsicle Inspired Chiller. The doughnut chain says this "Creamsicle inspired frozen beverage [is] made with a creamy frappe base and orange flavoring."

"Should a doughnut really taste like a Creamsicle? Yes. Yes it should," Dave Skena, global chief brand officer for Krispy Kreme, stated in announcing the new LTOs. "And we didn't stop there as we doughnutized some of America's favorite frozen treats this summer."

Additionally, remember that Krispy Kreme still has two other promotions they are running all summer long. Until Labor Day, wherever a shop has its Hot Light turned on, anyone can score a free Original Glazed doughnut with no purchase necessary. And then, until the end of August, Krispy Kreme is still offering their Beat the Pump promotion where every Wednesday the price of an Original Glazed dozen will be lowered to match the national average of one gallon of regular gasoline from the previous Monday.
