"Save a gingerbread person, eat a Gingerbread Glazed donut." Isn't that how the saying goes?

Krispy Kreme's quest to save gingerbread people across the globe resumes Monday, and you can spread holiday cheer every time you eat one of its limited edition donuts, which tastes exactly like Christmas.

I mean, if you could put a "perfectly spiced" gingerbread doughnut with hints of cinnamon covered in a warm gingerbread molasses glaze in your mouth, why would you ever make the heartless decision to eat a gingerbread person instead?

Seriously ... Spare that poor gingerbread person you're thinking of eating of the cruel and unusual punishment. After all, it's banned in writing by the Constitution.

And this winter, Krispy Kreme is giving us double the reason to choose its donuts over gingerbread people with the introduction of its new Gingerbread Original Filled donut, which is the same very cozy recipe but also filled with a yummy cheesecake kreme.

Yes, that's kreme with a "K" just like Kardashian. Did you see that adorable little Psalm made his debut on the annual Kardashian-West holiday card this year? Mine must have gotten lost in the mail. But from what I hear, apparently gray athleisure is the new ugly holiday sweater.

So run, run as fast as you can to a Krispy Kreme near you. You only have until Christmas Eve to save as many gingerbread people as possibly you can. Let the Golden Rule guide you: Calories don't count over Christmas.
