Dog paw-rents get ready, because there's a new favorite treat for your precious little pup in town. And no, it's not a new version of the infamous pup cup.
Fresh off the heels of their fall menu, Krispy Kreme is dropping something really special for the doggies that will make them howl to the moon: pumpkin spice-flavored Doggie Doughnuts. How paws-itively perfect!
Making their way to shops right in time for National Dog Day (Saturday, August 26), the new aptly title Pup'kin Spice Doggie Doughnuts are doughnut-shaped biscuits that come in four dog-friendly flavors, and are sure to get their tails waggin'. Produced specifically for dogs of all sizes and ages, the Doggie Doughnuts come in Pup'kin Spice Original Glazed, Pup'kin Spice Cake, Pup'kin Spice Maple Peanut and Pup'kin Spice Cheesecake Swirl. Let's raise the woof for options!
The new fall-inspired drop isn't the first time that Krispy Kreme has celebrated National Dog Day in a big way though. Last year, the doughnut purveyor — in collaboration with Australian-based artisan baked pet treat company Huds and Toke — released their first round of the pup-safe doughnuts and featured Original Glazed, Chocolate Cookie, Chocolate Sprinkles, Chocolate Iced, Strawberry Sprinkles and Chocolate Cheesecake flavors. This year though, they opted to take a different approach and join in on the pumpkin spice craze.
“Dogs add so much to our lives, so for National Dog Day we’ve upped our game for you to give them the awesome treat they deserve,” Dave Skena, Global Chief Brand Officer for Krispy Kreme, said in a press release. “We know you love our Pumpkin Spice and now it’s time for dogs to get in on the action. We’re pawsitive (groan) your dogs will love them.”
Ready to put your pup in the car and head to pick up a few for them to enjoy? The Pup'kin Spice Doggie Doughnuts will be available in 6-count boxes and you'll be able to get your paws on them from Saturday August 26 to Thursday, August 31 (or while supples last). And just in case you didn't know, according to the KK site, these treats last up to 12 months and need no refrigeration. Now, you can what you will with that information, but I know that Gambit and I will be stocking up!
