This year's race to launch pumpkin spice food and drinks officially has a winner. Krispy Kreme just announced that its pumpkin spice collection will be available in stores on Monday, August 8. Yes, that's next week. Yes, it's 90 degrees in parts of the country. And yes, that's several days before the Dunkin' and Starbucks fall collections will launch.

Krispy Kreme's pumpkin spice drinks and treats will be released an entire month earlier than last year. The collections is a combination of both new and old. The familiar favorites returning to the menu include the Pumpkin Spice Latte, Pumpkin Spice Original Glazed Doughnut, and the Pumpkin Spice Original Filled Cheesecake Doughnut.

Among the exciting new additions are the Pumpkin Spice Latte Swirl Doughnut and the Pumpkin Spice Iced Coffee. The new doughnut is basically a Pumpkin Spice Doughnut that's been dipped in a pumpkin spice and sugar blend and topped with a swirl of vanilla and coffee buttercream.

“Sure, pumpkin spice is generally associated with fall, but true fans of the flavor will agree that August is close enough! So, we’re pulling fall forward, enabling our guests to indulge and enjoy early with delicious pumpkin spice doughnuts and drinks, including our Pumpkin Spice Latte, which you can get iced or frozen, by the way,” said Dave Skena, Global Chief Brand Officer for Krispy Kreme, in a statement.

And if the August heat is a bit too brutal for a piping-hot PSL, the Pumpkin Spice Iced Coffee is a great way to keep cool. The countdown is officially on!
