Krispy Kreme Debuts St. Patrick's Day Doughnut Collection

There's also a way to get a free doughnut, and you don't even need to be lucky.

St. Patrick's Day is right around the corner and Krispy Kreme is ready.

The company announced its special St. Patrick's Day collection, available starting on March 9 for a limited time.

The new collection, called Good as Gold, has four delicious new doughnuts you need to try. The first is a Golden Cookies & Kreme Doughnut, which Krispy Kreme described as "a golden cookie Kreme filled doughnut shell dipped in white icing and covered in golden cookie pieces and a gold sprinkle blend."

There's also the Hat O’ Gold Doughnut, which is a chocolate iced doughnut, decorated with different shades of green icing in a plaid pattern, with a leprechaun hat sugar piece on top.

The Golden Sprinkle Doughnut is an Original Glazed Doughnut with light green frosting and St. Patrick's Day sprinkles.

Last but not least, there's the Rainbow Kreme Filled Doughnut, which Krispy Kreme described as "an unglazed shell filled with White Kreme topped with green icing and decorated with a rainbow sugar piece, vanilla buttercream, and gold coin sprinkles."

On top of all of that, Krispy Kreme is also bringing back the popular O’riginal Glazed Doughnut, which is the chain's classic glazed doughnut but green. The O’riginal Glazed Doughnut will be back for two days, on March 16 and 17, available by the dozen.

But Krispy Kreme will give one O’riginal Glazed Doughnut free, no purchase necessary, to anyone who wears green to a Krispy Kreme location, in-store or drive-thru, during those two days.

“Wherever you’re celebrating St. Patrick’s Day – at home, the office, with friends, even parades – you can make it golden by enjoying and sharing our Good as Gold doughnuts,” Dave Skena, Global Chief Brand Officer for Krispy Kreme, said in a statement. “Of course, we’re not leaving green behind. Visit a Krispy Kreme shop on March 16th and 17th and enjoy a free, delicious green O’riginal Glazed doughnut if you wear green!”

Krispy Kreme's Good as Gold Dozen is now available in-store and for pickup or delivery through the app and website. In some places, people can get lucky and buy a special 6-pack of St. Patrick’s Day doughnuts, available at select grocery stores near Krispy Kreme locations.
