Kris Jenner Posts Throwback Photo of Kim Kardashian in '90s Makeup and Pencil-Thin Brows

Overtweezing your eyebrows in the '90s was a (regrettable) rite of passage that even Kim Kardashian wasn't exempt from.On Wednesday, Kris Jenner shared a gem of a throwback photo featuring herself holding baby Kylie Jenner (who, ICYMI, just had a baby of her own) alongside a two-year-old Kendall and a teenage Kim in all of her itty-bitty-eyebrows glory. She captioned the shot, "#us 1997 throwback....the best memories #proudmama."

The entire photo is adorable, but it's Kim's Never Been Kissed–era makeup that really steals the spotlight. In the picture, she's wearing glittery gold eye makeup, an ultraglossy lip, and eyebrows that are approximately one-quarter the size of those featured in all of her recent NSFW photos. It is pretty much all of the '90s nostalgia you'll ever need summed up in a single face of makeup.

Commentsbycelebs — a hilarious Insta account that tracks down all the comments celebrities have left on other celebrities' photos — managed to capture Katy Perry's request for Kim to "show us that look on makeup tutorial, pls." Kardashian replied to Perry, saying, "I look horrendous! I was obsessed with Drew Barrymore and her thin eyebrows! And i discovered glitter bronze eyeshadow."

While there's definitely a premium placed on having a full brow in 2018, that wasn't always the case. The '90s were the golden era of overplucking, and in fact, there's actually an entire Instagram account dedicated to it. Given this photographic evidence, it looks like Kim fell victim to the trend in a major way. But with her tweeze-happy days long behind her, Kardashian now uses Anastasia Beverly Hills Clear Brow Gel to keep her brows in check.

Even though Kardashian herself admits that her ultrathin brows aren't her best look, they actually aren't what she considers to be the one beauty look she'll never do again. Earlier this month, she revealed that that award goes to ultrawhite under-eye makeup. So, never say never? (But please, Kim, say never.)
