While Kris Jenner may have an estimated net worth of $190 million, according to Forbes, her life wasn't always so glamorous. This week, the Keeping Up With the Kardashian star appeared on an episode of the podcast At Home With Linda and Drew Scott, where she discussed how her mom and grandmother helped instill a strong work ethic in her. As she told hosts Property Brothers star Drew Scott and wife Linda Phan, she was put to work in her grandmother's candle store as a gift wrapper at age 12. However, she enjoyed chatting with customers and learning about business. But when it came to the work she had to do at home, there was one task she wasn't too keen on.

"My mom wouldn't let me go out on a Friday night unless I raked the carpet in the living room," she quipped. Unfamiliar with the practice, Phan asked Jenner to clarify. Meanwhile, Scott knew exactly what Jenner was referring to. "Rake the carpet," the TV personality confirmed, explaining that her family had a shag carpet."You had to vacuum the carpet with a special vacuum, but then you had to rake it so the lines would be really perfect," she said. Jenner's mom worked at a golf course at the time, which extra pressure on her because she wanted it to have a seamless look like a putting green.

Scott related to Jenner's carpet-raking woes and shared one of his own memories of raking his family's carpet, which was brown. "Our neighbor babysat the house for a week and her dog was just sh*tting under the dining table," he recalled, noting that his family didn't know this at first—in fact, he was the one who discovered it. "We didn't realize what the smell was until I had to rake the shag," he said, revealing "and I found it all underneath the dining table."

Welp, who knew that some of our favorite stars would be able to connect over carpet raking? Also, perhaps there is a takeaway from this: avoid dark brown carpets if you have furry friends around! You can listen to Jenner's entire conversation with Phan and Scott here.
