Kris Jenner Says Cheating on Robert Kardashian Sr. Is Her "Biggest Regret" in Life

"I'm not proud of way I behaved during that time ..."

Kris Jenner is opening up about a "mistake" she made that still haunts her to this day. On this week's episode of The Kardashians, the momager spoke to her daughter Khloé Kardashian about the time she cheated on her late ex-husband and Khloé's father, Robert Kardashian Sr, who she was married to from 1978 to 1991. The two eventually split after Jenner's 1989 affair with soccer player and animator Todd Waterman, which she refers to as her "life's biggest regret."

The mother-daughter duo was talking about Khloé's relationship with Tristan Thompson, her ex and the father of her children, True and Tatum. He notoriously cheated on Khloé multiple times. In order to get inside the mind of a cheater, Khloé asked Kris, "What was your mindset when you cheated? When you did that with my dad, and you had four kids and you had a family? Yes, I know you were really young ..."

Kris responded, saying that "being really young and dumb is something that plays into it, because you don’t really understand the consequences of your actions."

Khloé pressed further, asking, "But what was my dad not doing that made you want to look elsewhere?"

"I don't know, because he was such a great husband and such a great dad, and I think that I fell into a situation where I thought that the grass was greener somewhere else, and I made a huge mistake," Jenner admitted. "That’s my life’s biggest regret."

"When I got divorced, Robert and I became best friends. We talked on phone all day long, helped each other through things all the time, and I did have regrets," Kris said during a confessional, adding that she hopes Khloé will rethink fully severing her relationnship with Thompson. "I thought, Wow, what I was thinking? So, I want Khloé to be really careful when she makes these decisions and she has to let somebody go."

The clip cut back to Jenner and Kardashian's conversation, and Jenner added that, although she regrets that decision, she's confident that everything has worked out the way it was meant to.

"I'm not proud of way I behaved during that time, but you know what? Everything happens for a reason," she said. "I really do live my life by thinking God has a plan, and without that whole thing happening, there never would’ve been Kendall and Kylie [Jenner]."
