Kris Jenner, Kim Kardashian, and Kendall Jenner Team Up With Drew and Jonathan Scott on an Epic Yard Makeover
Season two of Celebrity IOU premiered on HGTV last night—and the first episode follows Kris Jenner, along with daughters Kim Kardashian and Kendall Jenner, giving an epic yard makeover to the home of Kris’s best friend of 40 years, Lisa, who lost both her husband and her mother in recent years.
After leaving Hidden Hills, California, following the deaths of two of the most important people in her life, Lisa moved back because she always wanted to live there. “This is where her heart is; her memories of her husband and all that,” Kris says in the episode.
Following Lisa’s recent renovation of her new Hidden Hills pad, she was left with no budget for the run-down front and back yards (including an empty pool), which is where the Kardashian-Jenner crew came in handy, with Kris and Kendall even doing some of the demolition work firsthand.
And Kris isn’t the only Kardashian-Jenner with a connection to Lisa. “I grew up idolizing Lisa,” Kendall reveals in the episode. Kris echoed the same sentiments, stating, “I love Lisa with all my heart, so this is the least that I can do for my beautiful friend to help her heal.” The momager added that Lisa is like an aunt to her kids, and she hopes this undertaking will help her turn over a new leaf.
In the episode, we see Kendall using an excavator, while Kris enlists a jackhammer to tear apart the original patio. And the outdoor renovation wasn’t limited to the backyard; the Kardashian-Jenner crew and the Property Brothers also beautified the property’s front yard, adding a stone walkway lined with olive trees. Meanwhile, the backyard now boasts a top-of-the-line kitchen and a sitting area with a toasty fireplace, not to mention a sizable pool that’s surrounded with outdoor furniture.
After seeing the completed yard renovation, Lisa was elated. “I really feel like one of the luckiest girls in the world—and I am.” She added, “This is the happiness that I really need.”
Kris professed to Lisa how deserving she is of this reno, telling her, “You’ve given everything in your heart and soul to your husband and I feel like you needed this to move on.” Now, says Kris, Lisa “gets to start making new memories” and “to have a fresh start and learn how to live each day.”
