Kris Jenner Announces 'Unexpected' Death of Close Family Member

Kris Jenner is mourning a beloved member of her family.
In a solemn social media post shared Tuesday, March 19, the reality star and business mogul announced the death of her only sister, Karen Houghton, 65, whom she said died "unexpectedly" on Monday, March 18.
"It is with the heaviest heart and deepest sadness that I share that my sister Karen passed away yesterday unexpectedly," Jenner wrote in the caption of an Instagram post while sharing a collection of photos taken throughout her sister's life.
"My heart aches for my mom MJ [Campbell] and my niece Natalie [Zettel] and I pray that God guides us all through this difficult time," the Kardashians star continued.
She described some of her sister's best qualities, calling her the "sweetest, kindest, the most sensitive and vulnerable and so so funny."

"Karen was beautiful inside and out," Jenner added. "She always felt grateful and thankful for her life and treasured her family and friends and especially her beautiful daughter."
Houghton shared Natalie, her only child, with her ex-husband, Mark Zettel, whom she married in 1996 and later divorced in 2002.
"She holds such a huge part of my heart and I cherish every single memory we have together," Jenner said of her sister, who lived a more private life than her famous relatives and wasn't a part of the family's longtime reality show, Keeping Up with the Kardashians.
"Karen’s passing is a reminder that life is so short and precious and tomorrow is never promised," the famed momager wrote in Tuesday's post. "We must tell those we cherish how much we love them. I love you my beautiful sister."
According to TMZ, Houghton was reported as deceased to San Diego County on Monday in San Marcos, Calif. Further details surrounding her death are still unclear, though officials told the publication that county officials are attributing her death to "natural causes" at this time.
