Kourtney Kardashian's New Neon French Manicure Is Perfect for Summer

While Kendall Jenner went the natural, barely-there route with her nails this weekend, older sister Kourtney Kardashian decided to step out of her comfort zone with a colorful take on the classic French manicure. Rather than getting white or ivory tips, the 40-year-old reality star had them painted with neon-blue, green, pink, and yellow shades of polish for a fun rainbow effect.

The Poosh founder shared her vibrant new manicure on her Instagram Story in three artsy snaphots, and of course, tagged her go-to nail artists in Los Angeles, Kim Truong and Diem of @nailsbydiem — both of whom are responsible for the look. She even had her nails photographed in front of a black and rainbow Louis Vuitton bag to make the already-vivid colors stand out even more. (Good call, Kourt.)

This isn't the first time we've seen this form of French manicure. In fact, the contemporary style was trending just last summer on Pinterest, with myriad folks curious about how to create the popular look at home. More recently, nail artist and Sundays Studio founder, Amy Lin, dished on what the high-voltage design is all about.

"The new French manicure is no longer about the perfect half-moon shape, but instead about creating a line, even be it a skinny line with a bright color," she told Allure in our guide to nail art for short digits. "It's not about achieving the perfect shape, but about using color for self-expression."

Needless to say, this is definitely a look to try if you've been itching to spice up your usual manicure game.
