Kourtney Kardashian Wore a “Vote Kanye” Hat, and Twitter Users Have Thoughts

The Kardashian-Jenner clan haven't meaningfully commented on Kanye West's bid for the presidency, which is why it's puzzling that after months of silence Kourtney Kardashian seemingly endorsed her brother-in-law…via hat

In an Instagram Story posted on Friday, Kardashian posted a link to the “best voter merch” followed by a picture of herself wearing one of the items: a “Vote Kanye” hat. It's hardly an emphatic statement: In the post, the hat reads backward because it's a mirror selfie. Still, she drew attention to the accessory, tagging West in the post with a big yellow arrow pointing to the hat.

West controversially announced he was running for president on July 4. He failed to get on the ballot in most states but is currently asking voters to write in his name.

While Kardashian's thought process behind the post is unclear, Twitter's reaction was loud and clear. “This is so embarrassing,” wrote Tyler Oakley alongside a screen cap of the story, in a tweet that's been liked tens of thousands of times. “Kourtney Kardashian posting an insta story to her 102 MILLION followers encouraging them to vote for Kanye is one of the most irresponsible, egregious and reckless uses of that family’s platform that i’ve ever seen,” posted Twitter use @ajhisnandez. Twitter user @LoveAndyC even made it personal, calling Kardashian's intelligence into question: “*deep sigh* @kourtneykardash You seriously think people should vote for Kanye? You think he can run this country, handle foreign issues, COVID, climate change, possible war, etc? This is incredibly irresponsible and quite frankly stupid. You are a clown.”

Voters may remember the slim margins that gave Donald Trump an electoral victory in 2016 and be concerned that third-party votes, especially in swing states, could decide the election. Kardashian did get one thing right: Make sure you vote.
