It seems newlyweds Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker are one step closer to welcoming a baby together as they just shared an exciting update on their IVF journey.

Speaking in the latest episode of The Kardashians, Kourtney said: "We are super excited because it's the first time we have made it to an egg retrieval in six months of doing fertility treatments." Describing the moment as a "blessing" she went on to add that "the last two times we tried, we weren't able to get to this phase."

Later in the episode, the couple attended an appointment with a fertility doctor, who explained that the eldest Kardashian sister has one promising ovarian follicle that they may be able to use during the process. "We have many good babies from one good follicle," the doctor told the couple, "so hopefully it'll be high quality and [result in] a normal embryo."

Reacting to the news, Kourtney said: "Even though there's only one follicle that Dr. Wood is really seeing that's standing out, the fact that we even have [one] gives me a lot of hope." Similarly, Travis couldn't contain his excitement at the prospect of having a child with his new bride. "It's the most exciting thing ever. I'm so happy," he said. "Family is everything to us. To be able to make something together would be just incredible."

In a confessional, Kourtney – who already has three children with her previous partner of ten years, Scott Disick – said that she "loves being a mom" and is looking forward to sharing that experience with Travis. "I know he's a really, really amazing father. It's one of the reasons that I fell in love with him," she told the camera.

Explaining what the next steps for the couple are when it comes to welcoming a baby, Kourtney said they still need to retrieve an egg and make an embryo then test it before "hopefully" implanting it into her uterus.

"All we need is one good egg," she shared. "Now it's just in God's hands."

Previously, the 43-year-old said that her IVF journey "hasn’t been the most amazing experience," revealing that the medication she'd been put on "literally" put her "into menopause."

We're sending all the positive vibes to Kourtney and Travis and hope that their baby dreams come true!
