Kourtney Kardashian is the queen of sharing non-toxic, all-natural products she uses on the regular, such as a $36 "superfood" honey and trendy collagen powder. Some of her picks are pretty out there for the typical shopper, but sometimes the oldest Kardashian suggests an item that hits the sweet spot of affordable, effective, and genius.

Her latest shoutout went to magnesium products, specifically in the forms of ConcenTrace Trace Mineral Drops (Buy It, $18, amazon.com) and Geothermal Minerals Magnesium Oil (Buy It, $20, amazon.com). Kardashian shared the items in a recent post on her lifestyle site, Poosh, that covered her tips for addressing muscle cramps and speeding up muscle recovery. Along with Epsom salts and healing balms, the KUWTK star revealed she also adds magnesium drops into her water daily and uses magnesium oil topically to help the body retain the mineral. (P.S. This hair product is the key to her luscious locks.)

While it might seem like an unnecessary addition, Kardashian points out that many people are unknowingly deficient in magnesium — and she's not wrong. "Roughly 75 percent of women don't get enough," Liz Applegate, Ph.D., the director of sports nutrition at the University of California, Davis, previously told Shape. Considering magnesium can help increase endurance, boost sleep, reduce anxiety (and your cancer risk), and aid in muscle recovery (FYI, low levels can contribute to lactic acid buildup), Kardashian certainly makes a strong case.

But before you rush to stock up on the supplement, it's important to note that studies are mixed on the benefits of ingesting magnesium to stop muscle cramps. While magnesium has been studied for its role in preventing pain, the best ways to reap its benefits are still being explored. Regardless, you should speak to your doctor about having your magnesium levels checked, before stocking up on supplements. (Related: Should You Be Taking Pre-Workout Supplements?)

However, if you do believe you could be at risk of magnesium deficiency, for oral ingestion, the ConcenTrace Trace Mineral Drops can be added to any liquid for an instant boost. Already a favorite of more than 2,800 shoppers, the drops taste like mineral water (so they're essentially tasteless!) and have helped people with issues like muscle cramps, headaches, and vertigo, according to reviews.

You can also test out the Poosh-recommended Geothermal Minerals Magnesium Oil. It only has a couple dozen perfect ratings, but they're extremely convincing, with shoppers calling it "the best product" and a "miracle" for hip, elbow, and knee pain. Plus, its spray-on application is super convenient.

Either way, you'll be one step closer to reaping the same benefits of magnesium as Kardashian, which she told Poosh includes less anxiety, a relaxed mind, and soothed muscle cramps. Better yet, embracing your inner Kardashian won't cost a fortune this time around — both muscle recovery products are listed for under $20.
