Kourtney Kardashian Just Said the Best Thing About Her Recent Weight Gain

Kourtney Kardashian has been clapping back at internet trolls more than usual recently. First she defended her son against strangers who kept saying she needed to cut his hair. Now, she’s taking on body shamers in the comments section of her Instagram.

After posting a couple of photos of herself in a bikini on Instagram, one commenter thought it would be appropriate to start flinging around pregnancy rumors. But Kardashian swiftly shut down the chatter—and then said something really positive and poignant about body image.

“This is me when I have a few extra pounds on,” she said. “I actually love it. I have given birth three amazing times and this is the shape of my body.”

The Kardashian-Jenners don’t exactly have the best track record when it comes to promoting healthy body image, so Kourtney’s response here is a pretty welcome and refreshing change of pace.

Kourtney Kardashian is not the only sister who’s embracing her body in a new way after having a child. Kylie Jenner’s fans recently applauded her for not editing out her stretch marks in a recent Instagram story, as Teen Vogue reported. “Kylie Jenner has stretch marks on her boobies, and IDK why but this makes me feel like it’s okay that I too have stretch marks,” one fan tweeted. That just goes to show the kind of influence these O.G. influencers have.

According to People, Jenner once referred to her stretch marks as “a little gift from Stormi” during an Instagram Q&A. She also got candid in a YouTube video video about how the birth of her daughter affected her body. “I have stretch marks on my boobs,” she said. “My stomach isn’t the same, my waist isn’t the same, my butt’s bigger, my thighs are bigger.”

Especially during a global health crisis, it’s nice to see this type of mindset from celebrities.
