Kourtney Kardashian Completed Her Matching Couple's Look With a Goth French Manicure

Perfect for the Emmys red carpet.

There were a few lovebirds on the red carpet at this year's Emmy Awards. Selena Gomez attended with her beau, Benny Blanco, in a gorgeous sequin floral gown and black cherry mani. Niecy Nash-Betts and her wife Jessica Betts matched in all black. Plus, Issa Rae stole the show in her opulent gown, standing next to her husband, Louis Diame. Who else made an appearance? Reality TV's royal goth couple, Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker.

To attend TV's biggest night, the couple had to show up in matching attire. Waltzing the red carpet hand in hand, Kardashian and Barker both wore the sleekest all-black suits—same jacket and all. Although they almost totally matched, Kourtney took some creative liberties with her look—including a gothic baby French manicure and ditching her shirt altogether.

Though it was hard to spot through her black leather gloves, there were moments throughout the night we got a good look at Kardashian's pristine nail look. Done by manicurist Kim Truong, each of her nails matched with the same short natural shape. They had a high-shine glossy base that continued nearly to the end of her nails. However, right where the tips of her nails would naturally start, they were coated with jet-black polish in a super-thin strip.

The rest of Kardashian's glam was just as goth as her nails. She slicked back her hair in a side part to appear wet to the touch. Then, she wore the epitome of "rockstar girlfriend makeup," seeing as she was standing next to her actual rockstar boyfriend (or husband). Her eyes had a dark, smoky, grunge look with black-lined waterlines and gray eyeshadow. Her skin was glowy and hydrated, and some nude-pink lips finished the look.

On Instagram, Truong let her followers in on how she created the goth manicure for the big night. And, regardless of if you buy the same brands as her, it's super easy to DIY.

First, Truong shaped and filed Kardashian's nails before going in with The Gel Bottle Inc.'s Rubber Base Coat ($21). Once dry, she created the glossy base using the gel shade Marshmallow ($19) from the same brand, which was very similar to Kardashian's natural nail color.

Of course, next up is the black tip. Truong created the baby French with The Gel Bottle Inc.'s Jet Black ($19), painting it in that ultra-thin sliver at the ends. She sealed it all in with the brand's Extreme Shine Top Coat ($19) before letting it dry and adding some cuticle support with The Gel Bottle Inc.'s Cuticle Essence ($13).
