Kourtney Kardashian Called Out the "Toxic Environment" on Keeping Up With the Kardashians

Viewers know all about the drama on Keeping Up With the Kardashians, but Kourtney Kardashian opened up to Vogue Arabia about just what goes down on the show and why she decided, after almost 20 seasons, to walk away. Back in April, fans witnessed a physical altercation between Kourtney and her sister Kim and the family's trip to Armenia. A combination of the fight and not having the freedom to actually enjoy a trip came together and Kourtney told viewers that she was going to "take a big step back from filming and really just pick and choose what I will allow cameras to follow."

What fans didn't get to hear were a few more of Kourtney's feelings. She told Vogue Arabia that the constant filming got to be "toxic."

"I have been filming the show non-stop for 13 years, 19 seasons, and six spin-off seasons," she said. "I was feeling unfulfilled and it became a toxic environment for me to continue to have it occupy as much of my life as it was."

"Privacy is something I have come to value and finding that balance of private moments with being on a reality show is hard," Kourtney added. "People have this misconception that I don't want to work, which isn’t true."

Fans may have had an idea that Kourtney wasn't happy. Not only was she getting less and less screen time, her sisters, including Khloé, said that they had to work harder since Kourtney wasn't adding to the show's storylines. After she decided to leave, however, Kourtney said that she's focusing on what makes her happy, something she didn't get to do while she was on KUWTK.

"I am following my happiness and putting my energy into that which makes me happy," she said.
