What you need to know about TikTok’s favorite color-changing blush

TikTok can’t get over a new color-changing blush. But does the trendy skin-adapting makeup really deliver?

Makeup brand Youthforia’s best-selling product is its BYO Blush. The buildable blush oil reacts to each person’s unique skin pH to create the perfect shade of pink. It’s supposed to make your cheeks look naturally flushed and works with and without foundation.

If you’re on the fence about the viral product, watch In The Know’s Lisa Azcona test Youthforia’s hit blush to see if it’s the real deal.

“It’s supposed to magically transform from green to pink right before your eyes,” Lisa explains. “It’s one of those beauty products that is trending on TikTok. It claims to change color once it comes to contact with the skin.”

While the green oily liquid may not look like something you want on your cheeks, the BYO Blush is allegedly universal. However, Lisa’s skin is more on the oily side, so she isn’t sure if an oil-based blush will work for her.

“It promises to work on all skin tones and skin types to deliver a unique and beautiful shade of pink on every single person that tries it,” Lisa says.

To kick things off, she uses the lipgloss-like applicator to dab two to three drops onto her cheeks.

“You can use either a brush or sponge to blend it out if it’s too pigmented for your taste,” she recommends.

Lisa also adds that less is more when using the product, so use a light hand when applying. While the product was a bit oily, she expects it will dry down once it settles into the skin.

“This product definitely surprised me,” she says. “I can confirm it does change color, and the results were almost immediate. I love the shade of pink my skin’s natural pH created for me. It’s glowy and luminous.”

Youthforia’s BYO Blush can also be used as an undereye corrector when mixed in with your concealer.
