Is David Corenswet the new Superman?
He sure is! Gunn confirmed Corenswet's casting. He was up against critical darling Nicholas Hoult, as well as Tom Brittney.
As it turns out, Corenswet may have manifested the role.
In 2019, Corenswet told Entertainment Weekly that he's frequently told he resembles Henry Cavill, the last star to rock the cape for Man of Steel, Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, Justice League and Black Adam.
"My pie-in-the-sky ambition is definitely to play Superman. I would love to see somebody do an upbeat, throwback [take on Superman]," he said, perhaps foreshadowing his own success. "I love the Henry Cavill dark and gritty take, but I would love to see the next one be very bright and optimistic."
