What you need to know about signing up for summer swimming lessons in Albuquerque

Apr. 24—It's almost time to slather on sunscreen, don sunglasses and hit the pools to soak up sunshine this summer. If your child, or you, needs to learn how to swim, the city of Albuquerque will be offering swimming lessons to residents at a dozen pools around the city.

Here's what you need to know to sign up for swimming lessons this summer.

Registration opens at noon May 4, the schedule will be released the same day.

Lessons cost $40 per session, there are two options for lessons, four-day sessions and eight-day sessions.

There will be four, four-day sessions offered, each class is 45-minutes, a total of 60 minutes with the instructor, and there will be three students per class.

There will be eight, eight-day sessions with 30-minute classes, a total of 48 minutes with the instructor, and five students per class.

Swimming lessons are grouped by age, starting at six months, students 5 and older are divided based on skill level.
