Gordon Ramsay is a self-made man, who trained with some of the world’s leading chefs, such as Albert Roux and Marco Pierre White in London, and Guy Savoy and Joël Robuchon in France before launching his own empire.

He began in 1998, at age 31, with the opening of his namesake restaurant, Restaurant Gordon Ramsay, which was awarded three Michelin stars. Since then, he has opened a string of successful restaurants in cities across the globe, including Doha, Qatar; Las Vegas; Atlantic City, N.J.; Singapore; Dubai and several restaurants throughout the U.K.

At the same time, the chef became a TV personality, who today in the U.S. hosts MasterChef, MasterChef Jr., Hell’s Kitchen (renewed for two more seasons in 2022) and Gordon Ramsay: Uncharted, among others. (FOX's Masterchef Junior returned for season 8 in March 2022.)

In March 2022, the notoriously cranky chef did a surprisingly kind deed for a school kitchen manager at Edward Peake Middle School in Biggleswade, England. The school cook called into a radio program featuring Ramsay and asked for his help, saying she was "cooking on her own here" after the school's two chef were out sick. The celebrity chef sent Rob Roy Cameron, one of his chefs to help out at the school.

And along the way, Ramsay managed to marry and become father to five children with wife Cayetana “Tana” Hutcheson: Megan Jane Ramsay, twins Jack Scott Ramsay and Holly Anna Ramsay, Matilda Ramsay and Oscar Ramsay. None of whom want to follow in Gordon’s footsteps and become a chef.

Megan Jane Ramsay

Born May 16, 1998, Megan, 24, is the eldest of Gordon’s children. Holly Anna Ramsay

Born Jan. 1, 2000, Holly, 23, took a fashion course at Ravensbourne University in London, has a modeling contract with Est Models and Talent Agency, and has no interest in following her father into the kitchen.

In fact, recently, Gordon made fun of a TikTok video of Holly’s in which she attempted to make his potato gnocchi recipe.

In addition, Holly, a social media star, is also co-hosting a mental-health podcast with psychotherapist Talitha Fosh, on which she revealed that she had been sexually assaulted twice when she was 18 years old. Through the podcast, Holly hopes to become a mental-health advocate.

Jack Scott Ramsay

Born Jan. 1, 2000, Jack and Holly are fraternal twins. Jack, 23, has a love of sports. He played rugby in high school, and also has played water polo and studied Jiu-Jitsu. He attended Dulwich College and then Exeter University. In October 2020, Jack joined the Royal Marines.

Matilda “Tilly” Ramsay

Born Nov. 8, 2001, Matilda, 21, is the most likely to follow somewhat in her father’s footsteps. Tilly is an influencer who's best known for presenting the BBC cooking show Matilda and the Ramsay Bunch on CBBC alongside her family, out of which came the cookbook Matilda & The Ramsay Bunch: Tilly's Kitchen Takeover, and has made guest appearances on several of her father’s TV shows.

In 2021, she competed on Strictly Come Dancing, the original British version of Dancing with the Stars. Gordon congratulated her with a post on Instagram which noted she's one of the youngest dancers ever!

Tilly Ramsay also competed on season 13 of MasterChef Australia, where she surprised fellow competitors by telling them she's not allowed in her dad's restaurants.

"I'm not even allowed in my dad's Michelin-star restaurants so I don't know what to do," she said. When pressed, she doubled down, saying; "I've been once."

Oscar James Ramsay

Born April 4, 2019, 3-year-old Oscar is the baby of the Ramsay family, and keeps his parents on their toes. Gordon, who makes fancy food for his toddler, says that he is the last chance for one of his children to follow in his footsteps and become a chef.

Gordon shared this sweet family picture of his youngest son, Oscar, teaching the family's cat to walk!

Did Gordon and Tana suffer a miscarriage?

Yes. Tana became pregnant in 2016 with a boy. However, five months into her pregnancy, she suffered a miscarriage. At that time, Gordon posted on Facebook: "Hi guys, Tana and I want to thank you so much for your support over the past couple of weeks. We had a devastating weekend as Tana has sadly miscarried our son at five months. We're together healing as a family, but we want to thank everyone again for all your amazing support and well wishes. I'd especially like to send a big thank you to the amazing team at Portland Hospital for everything they’ve done. Gx.”

Megan and Jack shortly thereafter ran the London Marathon in memory of their unborn brother.
