THE THIRD SEASON of Lupin has just dropped after a two year wait, and fans are happy to see that the delay was well worth it. The French show follows Assane Diop, a man who is inspired by the adventures of the fictional gentleman thief Arsène Lupin, a character created by real-life novelist and writer Maurice Leblanc in the early 1900s. Assane is trying to get revenge on the family that framed his father for stealing a diamond necklace, which led to his arrest and imprisonment, where he eventually hung himself out of shame. Upon its release, Lupin became Netflix's biggest non-English series at the time, and as of right now it remains third on the list.

For Season 3, Assane was still on the run after the events in the season 2 finale, and after so much time away from his partner and child, he returns to Paris and tries to get them to leave France to start a new life somewhere else. Of course, things don’t go as planned—especially now that the world knows his name.

This season was just as full of thrills, action, and mystery as the seasons before it, which is of course leading to curiosity about what could happen in future seasons. The first season of the show was split into two parts that were released months apart, so viewers are wondering if this season could follow the same pattern. Here’s what we know about Lupin season 4.

Will there be a season 4 of Lupin?

As of right now, there hasn’t been any word about a new season of Lupin. That doesn’t mean that the show won’t come back, as there are no signs of it being canceled right now.

What will Lupin season 4 be about?

The fourth season of Lupin will continue Assane’s story of mystery, intrigue, and evasion, but the storyline could go anywhere, with Netflix execs and writers remaining mum for now.

Who’s in the cast of the fourth season of Lupin?

Omar Sy will almost certainly reprise his role as Assane Diop, while the cast will likely be rounded out with a combination of new and returning characters. Prior to the release of season 3, Sy talked about how the Lupin cast could expand in the future. “When you read the books, Lupin has a lot of accomplices. But [in the show] he had the one, which is Benjamin, but he needs people, [so he] hires them like he does with [Philippe Courbet]. So it was interesting to have that,” Sy told Entertainment Weekly. And I think it's going to be more interesting, maybe one day having like a big cast with a lot of people. Because the thing is just being the mastermind, you cannot do everything by yourself, you need people. It's also one of his skills, to bring people with him. It was really cool to play with that.”
