We know Jamie Lee Curtis' secret lemon cake ingredient, but this Kentucky bakery won't tell

After a long day of school, work, or running errands, sometimes the best solution is a sweet treat, and with this mouthwatering, delicious dessert, those who consume it are bound to get their fix for the day.

We’re talking about lemon cakes. And although famous actor Jamie Lee Curtis was willing to share her recipe Tuesday during a cooking segment on the Today Show, this Kentucky bakery isn’t giving away its family secrets.

Marguerite Schadt, owner of Heitzman Traditional Bakery & Deli, said the shop is the oldest family-owned bakery in Kentucky, serving Louisville for over 132 years.

“We bake items on a daily basis and one of our favorite(s) is our delicious homemade lemon cake. Lemon cake is available at (a) 1 pound or special-order a round cake,” she wrote in an email to the Courier Journal.

While Schadt was hesitant to give out her recipe, she encouraged locals and tourists to visit the shop to try and guess the secret ingredients found within the sweet and savory treat.

What's Jamie Lee Curtis' lemon cake recipe?

And for those who are desperate to whip up their own lemon cake immediately, Curtis and others have provided easy-to-make, alternative recipes.

According to People, Curtis bakes her lemon cake at 350 degrees for around 35 to 40 minutes. As for the secret ingredient: Lemon Jell-O.  She also recommends using a bundt cake pan.
