It’s that time for a beautiful drive in the country to see the stops along the Heritage and Harvest tour, sponsored by Red River Crossroads Historical and Cultural Association, this Saturday, September 23, 2023.

Heritage self-driving tour has signs along Hwy. 71 North to mark points of interest while passing along the communities of Dixie, Belcher, Gilliam, Hosston, Mira, Ida and new this year, Kiblah, AR. There, the 1927 Kiblah Rosenwald School and Museum can be seen.

The Red River Crossroads Museum will host several events including a lecture by basket maker Geraldine Zelinsky at 1 p.m., then the dedication of the Diane Long mural to Gilliam residents Karen Logan and Helen Adger for their efforts to the community at 2 p.m., with a reception to follow.

"We want folks to come out and experience the countryside and learn the history of Northwest Louisiana," said RRC Vice President Margaret John.
