When fall rolls around and there's that crisp feeling in the air, everyone immediately proclaims it's officially #sweaterweather and proceeds to break out all their cute knitwear for the season. Yes, the colder months are somewhat bearable because you can cozy up in all your cable knit tops and dresses, but now that summer is practically here, it needs to be said: Knitwear isn't just for cold weather!!!

Lately I've been seeing a TON of lightweight, thinner knits that are so colorful and summery. Some designs even have details like backless silhouettes, ribbed textures, and strappy features to make them look more appropriate for the season. But Lauren, you might say, these are going to make me so sweaty...to which my reply is that anything is going to make you sweat when it's 90+ degrees out! I get your concern though, and there are styles made from cotton that will be more breathable than others; plus, there are totally those summer nights when it gets a lil chilly or the wind picks up and you want something slightly more cozy.

Brands like Gimaguas, Paloma Wool, Simon Miller, Frankies Bikinis, Danielle Guizio, Victor Glemaud, and JBD Apparel have the cutest styles, and fully convinced me that I need this trend in my life for summer 2021. If you want to change up your same ol' white-tee-and-denim-cutoffs look, it comes in a wide variety of textures and takes the form of tanks, skirts, bra tops, wide-leg pants, and even swimwear. Not convinced just yet? Browse all the knitwear below and you probably will most definitely change your mind.
