ELMIRA, N.Y. (WETM) – One legendary coach is turning his new passion into a potentially big opportunity.
Elmira’s John Knapp, a retired teacher and baseball coach in the Twin Tiers, is up for Mr. Health and Fitness 2024. Knapp will be competing in the senior division category and has transformed his body over the last two years in becoming more fit and healthy. Coach Knapp even participated in a bodybuilding competition this past year in Buffalo.
The ultimate winner will earn $20,000 and be featured in Muscle & Fitness Magazine. Knapp coached the 1995 Corning East High School baseball program to a New York State Championship. He has also worked with hundreds of student-athletes for the past 30 years in becoming better physically and mentally.
Knapp’s recently published book Broken Foundation – Adversity is Not The Destiny reached the top of Amazon.com’s Hot New Release list. Knapp details several coaching stories and life experiences that made him the man he is today.
