It's been a special few days for Princess Diana's niece, Lady Kitty Spencer, who wed fashion mogul, Michael Lewis, in a luxury Italian ceremony on Saturday. Their extravagant nuptials have certainly had royal fans talking, with speculation about why Kitty's father Charles Spencer didn't walk her down the aisle and why the bride chose not to wear her family tiara as per a tradition upheld by Princess Diana.

Now, Kitty is enjoying her honeymoon on Italy's Amalfi Coast and interest certainly isn't waning. In fact, she and new husband Michael have been photographed while on their special holiday - and Kitty's taken to Instagram to set the record straight about the paparazzi pictures.

Kitty's response came after the Daily Mail published pictures of her and Michael enjoying the sunshine in Positano. In one of the more long-distance images, a couple can be seen in swimwear, making their way into the sea. It might seem like a standard paparazzi shot but Kitty took to Instagram to explain why all's not as it seems.

Sharing a screen grab of the article and the swimwear shot on her Stories, Kitty wrote: "This is NOT me @dailymail." Clearly, the photographer who took the picture was mistaken and it's actually showing another pair of people, not Kitty and Michael.

Despite this mix up, it seems like Kitty is otherwise looking back over her Italian wedding celebrations as the best time of her life.

She's posted a sweet video featuring moments from the day, and showing off her five incredible gowns, with a caption that highlights how much she loved tying the knot.

"The proudest moment of my life, without a doubt, was having my brothers walk me down the aisle ♥️ Thank you to our family and friends for the most unforgettable weekend filled with more love and laughter and happiness than I have ever known ♥️ It still feels like a dream," she wrote.

Clearly, it was a wedding to remember for guests, too. But two family members not in attendance were Kitty's cousins William and Harry. As Lady Kitty was a guest at both Prince William's wedding to Kate Middleton in 2012, and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's nuptials in 2018, it was thought that the two princes might also be there to celebrate Kitty's big day.

While it's not clear whether William and Harry would have even been invited to Kitty's wedding, it's thought that a combination of parenting and work duties plus COVID travel restrictions meant the two brothers couldn't be in attendance.

The arrival of baby Lilibet last month would presumably have made it difficult for Harry and Meghan to fly to Italy from California with a newborn (plus two-year-old Archie). Besides, it's been reported that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are currently on parental leave following their daughter's birth.

Plus, Italian law currently requires those entering the country to isolate for five days, which means the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge would have had to take more time away from their royal duties. So it makes sense it that regard that attending the wedding would have been tricky for the pair.

Regardless, it looks like Kitty is loving life as a newlywed. We're sending our congratulations to her and new husband Michael.
