Sometimes, you need a bake-cation. As in, a mental getaway from the stress, scramble, and all-around chaos that is your life, where you can just zone out and methodically make cookies. Or scones. Or Oreogasm poke cakes. I'm not here to judge what you're into.

But, what makes those treats even better is a setting that sets the mood, and KitchenAid's first-ever Color Of The Year achieves just that. Yes, getting in on Pantone's territory, the appliance company is getting in on the business of declaring an "it" color, and its very first is inspired by the tropics. It's called Bird of Paradise, a coral color that's a little orange-ier and less delicate than the much-obsessed-over millennial pink.

As you can see in the video above, it works in pretty much any kitchen, as long as you're not paying homage to the Simpsons with your decor. But even then, maybe.

Named after the tropical plant, the shade is perfect for summer. But really, it will make your kitchen look happy all year-round.

You can get it the color in an Artisan stand mixer (mini or full-sized), hand mixer, and mini food processor, as well as a blender.
