It’s been almost a decade since Gordon Ramsay last set his feet in a restaurant with the sole goal of saving a failing eatery from closing its doors, but after the restaurant crisis caused by the COVID-19 lockdown, the Michelin-starred chef is back with an all-new season of restaurant makeovers when Gordon Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares returns to FOX.

Each of 10 episodes will follow Gordon as he aims to convince sometimes reluctant owners and chefs to revamp their restaurant by exposing the stressful realities of running a successful food business, including staffing issues, menu errors, kitchen conditions and health code violations of a kind found only in nightmares.

Parade exclusively has the list of 10 restaurants that Gordon will renovate this season, all of which are in either New York or New Jersey.

“That was a production concern for us,” showrunner and executive producer David DeAngelis tells Parade of the reason for staying on the East Coast. “We needed to squeeze in 10 restaurants in 5 weeks. We figured the best way to do that was to stay localized. We looked around the country and we also thought, ‘Where are we going to get some of the better personalities and also a variety of restaurants.’ For us, New York and New Jersey ticked all the boxes because we knew we could get big personalities. East Coasters are known to be open and honest with their emotions, big characters for sure, and a wide variety of restaurants.”

Da Mimmo (Dumont, New Jersey)

The Juicy Box (Brooklyn, New York)

Diwan (Port Washington, New York)

Love Bites Café (Saugerties, New York)

“We have Italian restaurants, Indian restaurants, Puerto Rican restaurants, bars and grills, and a hot dog restaurant on the Jersey Shore,” David continues. “We tried to get a wide breadth of restaurants. We thought that was really important for the health of the show to give audiences a look at restaurants that felt national. Everyone has a favorite Italian restaurant. Everyone has a favorite Indian restaurant. Everyone has a favorite bar and grill, so we felt that that area was really reflective of the country.”

Gordon Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares premieres Monday, Sept. 25 at 8 p.m. ET on FOX.
