Hershey’s Kit Kat is never short on offering new flavors, but this time it’s about the design. The classic milk chocolate bar will soon come in a thinner version.

Beginning in February 2021, you can get Kit Kat Thins. Each pieces includes two light and crispy wafers — instead of the usual three — that are also thinner. They’re layered and covered in milk chocolate for the familiar flavor you love, just now in a smaller version.

The Kit Kat Thins come in 3.4-ounce ($2.39) and 7.2-ounce ($3.89) bags and the candy is all individually wrapped. You’ll be able to find them in stores nationwide in just a few weeks, so you won’t have to wait long to start snacking … and snacking … and snacking.

Have you ever bitten into a Hershey’s Kit Kat and thought, “Wow, I wish this were thinner?” Probably not, but maybe now you will, because that is reportedly a new treat coming to shelves in 2021.

Instagram account @candyhunting posted a picture of the alleged new candy, thanks to @candyfunhouse. As seen on the packaging, the Kit Kat Thins look like original Kit Kats, but (you guessed it) thinner. Why would someone want to eat a thinner piece of candy? Maybe for the crunch factor, or maybe they’re trying not to eat so many sweets, or maybe they just want to, and that’s enough of a reason!

“New Kit Kat Thins are expected to launch in March 2021 in the US! These have two wafers in the center rather than the traditional three,” the caption reads.

There’s no word as to whether the Kit Kat Thins will only be available in individually wrapped Share bags, or if they’ll also be regular bars. However, if it is true that we only have to wait until March to get our hands on them, we’re feeling pretty lucky.

Kit Kat isn’t the first Hershey’s brand to introduce a thinner version. You might remember that in 2019, Reese’s Thins hit the market in the classic milk chocolate and peanut butter combination. Since then, they’ve also been released in dark chocolate and white crème varieties. Also, in February 2020, Hershey’s York Thins were unveiled as a 36% thinner option to the original.
