Kit Harington Is Dressing Like Jon Snow Right Now—And We Like It

By Max Berlinger.

While wearing all-white has been a summer standby for as long as well, P. Diddy's annual White Party, Kit Harington here, makes the case that the alternative—all-black—is just as stylish in the summertime.

Sure, the moves seems antithetical to the light, airiness that crisp white layers call to mind but all-black just works for extremely good reasons: it's easy and it looks good. And when you're, ahem, sweating your balls off during these hot months, those two things can become vitally important.

Harington, who is promoting the latest season of his hit HBO TV show Game of Thrones (out this Sunday, folks), stepped in all black yesterday not once but twice, and in two totally different ways, proving just how versatile (and easy) it is to make the color work. At a taping of Jimmy Kimmel Live Harington looked dapper in an all-black tailoring outfit, black suit, long-sleeve crewneck sweater, leather dress shoes, and a pair of wire-rimmed glasses and, of course, that hair. It was an easy, sophisticated look, one that every guy should have in his closet already, and proof that a black suit can be worn to other events other than a funeral and look great.

The same day—on the same Kimmel lot—Kit Harington steps out, still head-to-toe black, mind you, but in a completely different look. Black short-sleeve slouchy tee, faded jeans, suede Chelsea boots, and sunglasses. Oh, and, of course, that hair. It was rock-n-roll-meets-hipster in the best possible way, and, again, an outfit that we're guessing you already have in your closet.

The lesson here: if the all-white look everyone from A-Rod to A$AP Rocky is wearing right now feels like too big of a menswear swerve for you, the stylish man's other favorite color combo works just as well.
