Quarterbacks certainly get their fair share of attention during regular season games, but executive producer Peyton Manning says this documentary shows the players in a new light. The eight-episode series profiles former Atlanta Falcons QB Marcus Mariota, the Kansas City Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes, and the Minnesota Vikings' Kirk Cousins.

Since they play such a prime role on a football team, it should come as no surprise that quarterbacks like Mahomes and Cousins make a pretty penny both on and off the field. Kirk Cousins, 34, was actually one of the top 10 highest paid quarterbacks in 2022, according to Sports Illustrated. And having played in the NFL since 2012, Kirk's income has been considerable for quite some time.

He just updated his contract with the Vikings.

In March, Cousins actually restructured his existing contract with the Minnesota Vikings (but more on that later). He previously signing a two-year, $66 million contract in 2020, and a three-year, $84 million deal in 2018, per USA Today.

Now, at the end of this football season, he's eligible to be a free agent in 2024, according to Sporting News.

In those early days, Cousins earned about $390,000 in 2012, plus a hefty signing bonus of nearly $473,000, according to Spotrac. Once he became a quarterback, his earnings shot up to $19.9 million.

In 2018, he left the Washington Commanders and signed a two-year deal with the Minnesota Vikings for $84 million, along with a $3 million signing bonus, per Spotrac. His yearly earnings have increased over time, hitting $40 million in both 2020 and 2022.

In 2023, Cousins will earn a salary of $10 million, which, along with a restructure bonus of $20 million, puts his total annual earnings around $30 million, according to Sporting News.
