Kingsport Senior Center hosts Spring Artisan Fair

KINGSPORT, Tenn. (WJHL) — The Kingsport Senior Center hosted its annual Spring Artisan Fair on Thursday.

The fair showcased creations from local senior citizens, such as baskets, greeting cards, woodworking items, crocheted items and more.

Michelle Tolbert with the senior center said the fair gives attendees the opportunity to socialize with one another while seeing what items are for sale.

“It gives people a chance to socialize with one another, see things that are available, and get some shopping done for your Mother’s Day gift and other springtime things that you need gifts for,” Tolbert said.

Some artisans at the fair also have been instructors for classes held at the center.

“We’ve had classes on [wreaths] and those have been sold out,” Tolbert said. “We’ve offered two and three classes at a time and [have] sellouts on those every time we’ve offered that.”

For those unable to attend the event, the items will be sold at the Lynn View Branch site (257 Walker Street, Kingsport) from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
