Kingsport to host ‘Move in May’ fitness day on Wednesday

KINGSPORT, Tenn. (WJHL) — Kingsport Parks and Recreation will hold a “Move in May” fitness day on Wednesday at Riverwalk Park, the city announced in a release.

The event will be at the park’s exercise equipment area from 6-7 p.m.

Attendees will participate in outdoor machine exercises and other fitness methods. Bottled water will be available, the release said.

“We’re offering this program as a way to encourage folks to get outside and move around,” said Kingsport Parks and Recreation Administrator Travis Sensabaugh. “The activities are for folks of all ages, so feel free to bring the entire family and enjoy an active evening in the park.”

“Move in May” is a free event. However, organizers are asking participants to register so a headcount is available. Those interested in registering can do so here.

Kingsport Parks and Recreation is encouraging the community to prioritize exercise, as it boosts energy, strengthens the immune system, benefits sleep patterns, and more.
