Over the weekend, Buckingham Palace shared King Charles and Queen Camilla's 2022 Christmas card. The card features a photo of the royals taken at the Braemar Games in Scotland just a few days before Queen Elizabeth passed away at Balmoral Castle.

Scotland's Braemar Gathering is a highland games competition that takes place during the summer holidays. Queen Victoria first attended the games in 1848, and the royals have made an annual appearance ever since. Princess Anne, Charles, and Camilla, were in Scotland to attend the Braemar Gathering this year when the Queen's health took a turn for a worse; Charles and Anne were reportedly by their mother's side at Balmoral when she passed away.

The holiday card is one of many firsts for King Charles this holiday season. He will deliver his first Christmas address, and the family will celebrate Christmas for the first time without Queen Elizabeth. The royals typically go to Sandringham Estate for Christmas, and it's likely that Charles and other royals will continue the tradition.

Charles and Camilla are the first royals to share their holiday card, but we can expect to get other holiday photos from the Prince and Princess of Wales in the upcoming days.

This week, Kate's Christmas carol service will take place at Westminster Abbey. The service, planned for Thursday, December 15, plans to pay homage to the late Queen Elizabeth. On the same day, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will share the second half of their Netflix docuseries, Harry & Meghan.
