King Charles Provides Update on Queen Camilla's Health Condition

Buckingham Palace announced earlier this week that the Queen Consort tested positive for COVID-19.

King Charles III is letting the public know that Queen Camilla is on the mend.

While visiting Milton Keynes on Thursday, Feb. 16, the sovereign commented on the Queen Consort's health while on a walkabout outside the Church of Christ the Cornerstone.

"She's getting better," Charles reportedly said to well-wisher Tazmin Farrington, who relayed the brief conversation to Hello!

Thursday's royal engagement comes just three days after Buckingham Palace shared the news about Camilla's condition, announcing, "After suffering the symptoms of a cold, Her Majesty The Queen Consort has tested positive for the Covid virus."

"With regret, she has therefore cancelled all her public engagements for this week and sends her sincere apologies to those who had been due to attend them," the statement read, per the BBC.

Oddly enough, Camilla tested positive for COVID almost exactly one year prior to the day, with Clarence House announcing the news in February 2022, confirming that Her Majesty is fully vaccinated against the illness. Charles also ended up contracting coronavirus as well, causing both of them to cancel their upcoming engagements at the time.

This week, the King was able to continue with his agenda, though his wife was unable to attend the recent visit to Milton Keynes. During the engagement, Charles notably ignored protesters holding up signs that read, "Not My King."

According to PEOPLE, the King still appeared to be "in good spirits," as many other people came out waving Union Jack flags, and some even chanted a chorus of "God Save the King."

The Palace is currently gearing up for Charles' upcoming coronation on May 6, the official celebration for the new king following the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, last year.
