King Charles III has been admitted to the hospital.

The British monarch checked into a London hospital today for a scheduled treatment, Buckingham Palace said in a statement.

“His Majesty would like to thank all those who have sent their good wishes over the past week and is delighted to learn that his diagnosis is having a positive impact on public health awareness,” the palace added.

As Bazaar reported last week, the king was recently diagnosed with an enlarged prostate, and the palace announced he would be heading to the hospital soon for treatment.

While the condition is nothing to worry about, King Charles’s slate of public engagements will be briefly postponed while he recovers.

“In common with thousands of men each year, the king has sought treatment for an enlarged prostate,” the palace said. “His Majesty’s condition is benign, and he will attend hospital next week for a corrective procedure. The king’s public engagements will be postponed for a short period of recuperation.”

On the same day, Kensington Palace also announced that Catherine, Princess of Wales, had undergone “planned abdominal surgery” and would remain hospitalized for 10-14 days. Bazaar soon learned that it was for a noncancerous condition, though not much else has been disclosed. “The Princess of Wales appreciates the interest this statement will generate. She hopes that the public will understand her desire to maintain as much normality for her children as possible; and her wish that her personal medical information remains private,” the palace said. “Kensington Palace will, therefore, only provide updates on Her Royal Highness’s progress when there is significant new information to share.”
