In response to Tina Turner’s sudden passing, His Royal Highness King Charles, 74, took a moment to celebrate the life of the Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll in the best way: with a special musical tribute.

Turner, who died last week at the age of 83, was honored by the Band of the Welsh Guards with their performance of her 1989 hit single “The Best.”

The Band of Welsh Guards was also accompanied by the First Battalion Welsh Guards Corps of Drums for the tribute ceremony, Hello! Magazine reported.

The musical tribute, which was ordered by the king himself, was performed during the time in which the King’s Guard changes positions with the New Guard in front of Buckingham Palace on Friday, May 26.

Back in 1984, Charles first met the legendary singer after she performed at the then-prince’s Trust All-Star Rock Concert at Wembley Stadium, which is located in London.

On Tuesday, May 23, it was reported that Turner passed away after battling a long-term illness.

Her spokesperson confirmed her passing on social media, writing, “It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Tina Turner. With her music and her boundless passion for life, she enchanted millions of fans around the world and inspired the stars of tomorrow.”

This musical tribute was, might we say, simply the best.
