Kim Kardashian Has Been Working ‘20 Hours a Day’ For Her Appearance On SNL

Kim Kardashian has been working hard to prepare for her appearance on Saturday Night Live tonight, October 9, according to TMZ. Kardashian has supposedly been putting in “20-hour days" all week after arriving in New York City on Monday. SNL is known for its grueling schedule, but it's still a bit surprising that reality show super star and cosmetics mogul Kim Kardashian is hanging in for 3 AM rehearsals.

Kardashian has apparently been holding up well under the stress and is determined to put on a great show. Hosting is difficult gig, and attracts a lot of scrutiny. While she is no stranger to being observed, Kardashian is not known as a comedian, but she has been reaching out to her hilarious celebrity friends, like Dave Chappelle, Michelle Wolf, Ellen DeGeneres, Amy Schumer and James Corden.

In a promo for the episode posted on Thursday, Kardashian stands with SNL cast member Cecily Strong and Saturday's musical guest, Halsey.

“Hi, I'm Kim Kardashian West, and I'm hosting SNL this week with Halsey,” she says.

Strong interjects, “Oh my gosh, this crazy thought just occurred to me in this exact moment right now. Should we start our own girl group?”

Halsey replies, “Absolutely not.”

“We already said no when you pitched that backstage,” Kardashian adds.

Strong asks if the first-time host is nervous about the upcoming show, and Kardashian answers, “Why? I don't have to write sketches, do I? Memorize lines?”

“No, there are cue cards,” Halsey explains.

“Everyone else won't look as good as me, will they?” Kardashian continued and Strong says, “No, absolutely not.”

“This is so easy,” Kardashian concludes.

A source told People that despite her joking promo, she is not feeling as calm as she seems—even if she does looks better than everyone else.

“She's both nervous and thrilled,” the source said. “It's a huge deal for her. She takes the hosting gig very seriously.”

The source also alleged that she and her ex Kanye West have been “chatting” about the job, in addition to all of her comedian friends.

“He's giving her advice. She feels a lot of pressure. She wants to wow the audience.”

It's been rumored that Kardashian and West have been dancing around a possible reconciliation, especially since she showed up at his “Donda” release party in a wedding dress. West has appeared on SNL a few times and has no issue with ignoring the cue cards. In 2018, he gave an unplanned speech in support of Donald Trump that never got to air. We can probably expect better things from Kim Kardashian.
