The jokes are rolling in after Kim Kardashian purchased the late Princess Diana's iconic necklace.

Kim Kardashian has riled up the internet with her latest purchase.

On Jan. 18, it was announced that the reality star and entrepreneur purchased the iconic amethyst cross necklace once worn by the one and only Princess Diana. The late princess famously sported the giant gem-encrusted piece to a charity gala in London in 1987, pairing it with a baroque-style purple and black velvet gown.

The purchase comes not long after the Kardashians star wore Marilyn Monroe's iconic "Happy Birthday" dress to last year's Met Gala, proving she’s fascinated with the fashion of notable women throughout history.

And in 2019, she bought her now nine-year-old daughter, North West, Michael Jackson’s custom velvet jacket, which he wore to Elizabeth Taylor’s 65th birthday party, for Christmas, per Vulture. This past Halloween, the eldest daughter, who dressed up as the King of Pop, rocked the actual hat he wore in his “Smooth Criminal” music video in 1988.

Now, Twitter has erupted with memes poking fun at Kardashian’s expensive spending habits, particularly on iconic pop culture items, or the belongings of late icons.

“Kim Kardashian has purchased the Burmese python that Britney Spears wore during her 2001 VMAs performance,” one fan joked, sharing a photo of Kardashian from back in the day holding a python around her neck just like the pop superstar.

Another fan quipped, “Kim Kardashian bought Kim Kardashian for an undisclosed amount.”

A third fan shared a photo of an excavator with the caption, “Kim Kardashian when she fancies a new cardigan."

“Kim Kardashian has purchased Lady Gaga’s iconic 2010 MTV VMA Meat Dress for an estimated $1M which has since been preserved by the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. She says "Gaga truly ate pop culture up with this look and now I plan to eat it up myself for dinner,” read yet another tweet referencing a fake purchase.
