They say it takes a village to raise a child, and Kim Kardashian is opening up about hers. The 43-year-old entrepreneur recently admitted that while she doesn’t see a therapist in the traditional sense, she has visited a child psychologist for help and advice when it comes to raising her kids.

“I tried a little bit before my marriage ended,” she said in a new interview with GQ. “I do have a therapist that only deals in child psychology that I talk to to get parenting tips and advice. Sometimes I feel challenged by parenting.”

Kardashian shares 10-year-old North, 7-year-old Saint, 5-year-old Chicago, and 4-year-old Psalm with her ex-husband, Kanye West. On her family’s Hulu reality show, The Kardashians, she frequently opens up parenting, and in an episode from early November, she described trying to find “little things” to bond with each of her kids over.

“North is really special and smart and creative and definitely beats to her own drum. Her personality is really, really silly,” she explained on the show. “It’s so interesting because her temperament as a child is the same now. You definitely just come out your own person. Kourtney always says North is my lesson on this planet. It means I’m supposed to learn more patience. She teaches me patience. She has taught me a lot about life.”

Earlier in the season, she opened up about her struggles becoming a single mom amid her divorce.

“I think I’m still learning how to be a single parent,” she admitted. “I just did the Jay Shetty podcast where I spoke about parenting, and I mean, I should be used to it by now, but everyone had a lot to say.”

A lot of the criticism she receives, she said, has to do with talking about the difficulties of parenting despite having essentially unlimited money and hired help.

“The struggles that my kids go through really have nothing to do with the amount of help that I have,” she said. “Obviously, having nannies and a chef to help cook is beyond helpful. It’s all about family and enjoying these moments. It takes a village to raise kids, but at the end of the day, your kids only want you.”

She added, “The one thing that everyone has in common is just the amount of time that we have. I’m raising four kids and I split my time between my work, my family, my four kids and I want to make sure that my kids have 90% of that.”
