Kim Kardashian on Bruce Jenner: “I Support Him 100 Percent"

Bruce Jenner’s tell-all was a big deal. The former athlete shared news that he’s transitioning, telling Diane Sawyer, “I’m a woman.” But more important than what Jenner had to say is how Kim Kardashian feels about the situation. (Sarcasm here, people!)

“I don’t know what life would be like if you always felt like you weren’t yourself,” she told Matt Lauer in her own TV special (because there’s no way she could let another family member have the spotlight for too long). "As long as he is happy, and he wants to live his life, however he wants to live it, that just makes me happy. And I support him 100 percent.“

The Today Show host asked about the adjustment, which she admitted is tough. But the Kardashian-Jenner crew is really close and completely supports each other. She even confessed that the family frequents therapy to help them cope. "Say what you want about us, but we work out everything as a family and we have the best communication and we are so in sync with each other,” Kim said. “I love having so many siblings because each family member might be dealing with this in a different way, but we have each other.”

On Friday night, Jenner revealed that it took some wise words from Kanye West for Kim to really get to a place of acceptance. "[Kim and Kanye] were talking about it,“ he explained (as Kim notes during her interview with Lauer, when speaking of Bruce in the context of the interview, the he/him pronouns are still appropriate), "and he said to Kim, ‘I can be married to the most beautiful woman in the world, and I am. I can have the most beautiful little daughter in the world, and I have that. But I’m nothing if I can’t be me.”

Kanye’s words really seemed to make a difference. “I think he’s ready for the challenge and ready to help other peoples’ lives that might be going through the same things that he’s going through and that’s something that he’s really proud of and something that he’s ready to take on,” Kim added. “And I’m really proud of him for that.”
