By now, you'll definitely be aware of Barbiecore after the bright pink trend came to dominate this summer's dressing and continues to reign supreme among all our fave celebs. The style's major take-off has been linked to the announcement of the forthcoming Barbie live-action film starring Margot Robbie and a seriously major cast, showing the ways that the fashion and entertainment worlds can feed off of and inspire one another.

Now comes the news that former Cosmopolitan UK cover star, Euphoria actress and all-around icon Sydney Sweeney will be starring and producing in a remake of Barbarella, the iconic sci-fi movie starring Jane Fonda as a fabulously dressed space traveller. Perhaps this could spark another entertainment-based trend: Barbarellacore.

While this may sound far-fetched (yep, we know the move hasn't even started filming yet) it does look like a sci-fi inspired fashion trend could be beginning to brew. That is, at least, if you take Kim Kardashian's Instagram as any indicator. She's always loved a future-facing fit and has even rocked a silver, cyborg-esque bikini - and now she's taking it all a step further.

While she's been switching it up of late with more of a vintage, Hollywood glamour style, her latest look could have beamed down straight from the year 3022. Posting a carousel of images on Instagram to the tune of 1.2 million likes, she debuted a long, silver Rick Owens dress with a major cutout and a matching puffy shawl. The sculptural look was topped off with heavy silver bangles and a statement ring.

Her fans seemed to love the look with comments like "ABSOLUTELY KIMBERLY" and "Gorgeous ❤️❤️". Even Paris Hilton showed her approval, posting a heart eyes emoji beneath the images.
