Kim Kardashian Just Put a Sugary Sweet Twist on Brown Hair

Brunettes get a lot of undeserved flack. Watch any movie from the '90s or '00s and you'll see women with the hair color depicted as bland, boring, and book-ish, among other things. But contrary to outdated pop-cultural stereotypes, brown hair can be every bit as sultry and versatile as any other hair color — Kim Kardashian West proves that with a new take on brunette almost every week. Recently, she's debuted "cold brew hair" and a few caramel-colored hues alongside her signature almost-black brown. This week, her right-hand hairstylist Chris Appleton gave her an updated chocolate-brown color with a pin-straight style fans and haters alike will be imitating immediately.

"Darker shade of chocolate brown," Appleton captioned a November 20 Instagram post of Kardashian West out and about in a navy blue suit and the new hair shade. "Same but different." Kardashian West's perpetually glossy hair, parted in the center, almost hits her at the waist, it's so long. There isn't a single bump or wave in sight, either.

Kardashian fans, as they're wont to do, quickly swarmed to the post to fawn over the look. "She can never not look good," reads one of the post's top comments. "Do my hair next pls," another commenter chimed. "Brown of my dreams," reads another.

Kardashian West's frequent hairstyle, cut, and color shifts always beg the same important question: Just what will she attempt next? Mere hours after this story is published, her hair could be back to a jet-black bob, or a floor-sweeping high ponytail, or a big mess of ringlet curls à la the lastest KKW Fragrance campaign. It could even be blonde or some other crazy color, should she be in the mood to play around with wigs. Whatever hair adventure she decides to go on next, fans will undoubtedly be right there to ooh and aah at the moment it's revealed.
